Yesterday, it was revealed that Lisa Ortiz, Vericona Taylor, Eric Stuart and Crispin Freeman have been cast for the dubbing of Slayers Revolution/Evolution-R. I was thrilled to hear this, especially since when I first watched Slayers I watched the dub. So, I just can't imagine anyone else voicing these characters.
However, Xellos was recast, but that doesn't surprise since it's been years since David Moo had done anything as far as I Know. I don't mind this as much, besides apparently Xelos is being voice by one of the best voice actors in the business Michael Sinterniklaas. I've seen this guy and he is good. He did the voice of Leo in the 2003 series of Ninja Turtles, so I'm curious to see how he handles Xellos.

The other advantage to Funi releasing Slayers that another fan pointed out to me, is that we may get the first 12 episodes at once. Lately, they've been releasing anime series in two parts. Part 1 has the first half and a few months later, they release the last half. Some examples include, Ouran Host High School, RomeoxJuliet and Pumpkin Scissors. So, it would be nice if that's what they plan to do for Slayers.

Now, if only they'll announce that Dan Green will be voicing Wizer. ^_~

Tea
When I was a little girl, I've loved giving tea parties for my stuffed animals. Even now, I'll see a tea set and smile a bit. That might explain why I get amused with characters that seem to prefer tea. I still enjoy seeing tea parties.

And of course the fact that my dad prefer tea over coffee, it soon led me to eventually trying tea myself. I'll admit in the morning I do like having a cup of coffee instead, but I do like having tea either cold or hot. I've been meaning to get myself to trying more different flavors of tea.

Slayers
Slayers is the first anime series that I began to write fanfiction for and it was also the first anime series that I truly love. I've seen Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Digimon as a kid, but Slayers was really the first series that I began to actively take part in the fandom in.

I just love how Slayers has a nice variety of characters and that the plot itself can be a mixture of both humour and drama. I tend to enjoy a story or series more when it tries to have a mixture of the two and it manages to do it well.

Lightheartedness
This tends to be the tone of my livejournal and also my fanfics. In life I do try to focus on the good things and my livejournal entries will often reflect that. Mind you, that doesn't mean I don't write about the negative things that happen in my life. However, I sometimes have the habit of thinking I should write about something that happened to me, but I end up forgetting about it and not thinking about it again a few weeks later.

As for fanfics, I do write a lot of lighthearted fics, especially for one shots. I do try to put some humour in them, so that my fics don't get too boring. I would like to write and experiment with more dramatic fics sometime in the future, I just have to find the time for them.

Writing
I love writing, I've been writing since I was a little kid. I wrote my first fanfic when I was 7 and it was based on Samurai Pizza Cats. I did take a break from it in Junior High, but I began to write more seriously in High School thanks to a writing class I was taking and my brother introducing me to the world of fanfiction. Then in University, I began to write not just fanfics but more original stories for another writing class that I took.

I learned a lot from that University Class and I'm sometimes amazed at how my style has changed since I was 16.

For style, I tend to write humour/general/adventure. One of my dreams is to actually have one of my stories published, however, until then I am just as happy to share fanfics with my friends.

Animation
I've been watching animation since before I could talk. I was speech delayed and I didn't quite understand what people were saying around me. So, I think that's why I was so drawn to animation because it was easy to tell what was going on in the story by the characters' expression and the setting.

As people know, I'm a huge Disney and anime fan, but I love watching any kind of animation as long as it has good characters and a good story to tell. I'm willing to watch anything at least once. Also, I just find there's something fascinating at how a person can tell or portray a story with just a pencil.

Recently, there apparently was a special in which a tour was given of the studio where the Princess and the Frog movie is being made.

This is part one, and I enjoyed seeing some more of the clips for the upcoming movie. However, one line said by the tour guide made my raise my eyebrow a bit. The tour guy mentioned how Tiana is the first Disney princess who is not be waiting for her prince to come.

...Um...not really. You can argue that Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora and Ariel were waiting for their princes, but a lot of the golden age Disney princesses weren't exactly waiting for their prince. To name a few, Belle was just wanting adventure, Mulan was too busy fighting to protect her county and Jasmine would try to feed any prince that came near her to her tiger.

Anyway, besides that bit, the special is neat and it gives a bit more detail on the other characters in the movie besides Tiana and Naveen.

I've been meaning to make a post about this, I got an idea for an RPG to do sometime after I saw Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian.

For those who haven't seen the Night at the Museum movie, here's the main point that I'm thinking. Due to an ancient Egyptian artifacts at night all the museum's exhibits comes to life. So you have, Teddy Roosevelt, dinosaurs, tiny cowboys and Roman soldiers and any other statue come to life. (In the sequel you have Amelia Earhart and General Custard come to life, which is fun.)

So, this got me thinking that you could probably make an RPG out of this. If you have a museum setting, then you can either play as a nightwatchman or as any possible character that you can think of that might come to life. Example: There's a caveman exhibit so you can play as a caveman, or maybe a Lewis Carrol exhibit was set up so you can play as Lewis Carrol, or William Shakespeare etc.

I'm not quite sure what the plot would be, but I can just picture a fun RPG out of this.

Almost done my first week of my on-the-job training. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but now I feel I got the hang of it. It's just so nice to come home and not have any homework to do. ^_~

Fanficwise, I've been working on Slayers Gears and also a fic for the Gender Switch Challenge over at ameliazellove community.

But I did manage to write a drabble that I've been wanting to write for awhile.

I got back from the con and it was an awesome trip!

Although, I will say that this will be my last con for awhile. Anime North was good, but it wasn't as nearly as much fun as last year. Also, it seemed to be more over crowded this year and not as organized.

However, I did managed to find a Zelgadis key chain, a reboot poster and a Lost Universe box se, so I'm happy.

I also have pictures, which I plan to post later including one with me dressed as Horo. ^_~

Also, got to spend time with secondlina zenavvy which was so great! I wish we had portal guns so we could spend more time together. I think we spend the majority of our time just hanging out, chatting and watching movies and Stu's computer.

Also, we spent time plotting and planning Slayers Gears so that was good.

With that said, we were thinking next year it would be fun to visit someone's home because that way we wouldn't have to pay for a hotel and we get to see where everyone lives. So far, we seem to be learning towards crashing my place and then, the next year go to secondlina in Montreal. Of course, I also want to visit dqbunny and ichiban_victory So many places! So little time! We must make this idea work.

For you guys who haven't watched Avatar yet, you don't need to watch the show to understand this video and there are no spoilers for the show in this episode. It's mainly about Toph addressing an important issue...proper pronunciation of characters' names.

Stu, John and I just finished watching Twilight....WORST. MOVIE. EVER!!

Seriously, we're going to watch the Slyaers OVA with a REAL vampire in an attempt to recover.

This weekend, gullwhacker, our friend Jon and I thought we would rent Twilight for two reasons.
1. To see how bad it is and how much we can mock it
2. Just so we can say that yes we did see it so when we tell people we don't like Twilight they can't use the "Well, how can you say you don't like it when you haven't seen it?" line.

But, in regards to that, I thought I would come up with a drinking game to make it more fun. (And no, we're not drinking alcohol, just regular soda. XP The movie will be bad enough without adding hangovers to the experience)

However, I only thought of 4 things

1. One sip for sparkle

2. 1 sip for angst.

3. 2 sips if someone angst that isn't Bella or Edward

4. 2 sips when Bella has a Mary-sue moment.

5. 1 if Bella complains about herself

6. 2 if Bella complains about something else

I'm happy to say that I only have 3 weeks of school left, then I'm done with school! It will be nice to be able to just concentrate on fanfics instead of homework.

Also, Stu is coming home this weekend and he's not going to back to school for a long while. *grins* It will be great to have him home and it's only a couple of more weeks until he and I go to Anime North. I'm Horo costume is just about done, I just need to finish one or two details, then I'm all set.

And finally, since I remembered the Carebears in Wonderland movie, this song has been stuck in my head. (This was my favorite song in this movie as a kid. XD )

A friend of gullwhacker showed him this parody yesterday. Theory, if you replaced Bella with a cheeseburger nothing will really change. XD

Wrote another drabble, but an Avatar one this time. secondlina asked me if I could write a Toph centric one for her and it gave me this little plot bunny. I love writing Toph.

Although, while writing it a crack idea did come to mind. Would Zelgadis be scared of earthbenders, especially Toph? Think about it. If I had skin that was made of rock and found out there were people that could bend it, I thought I would be a bit nervous. Plus, I can so see Toph constantly mocking him with this threat. (And yes this is similar to my Toph vs Transformers idea a while back. XP )

After seeing ichiban_victory current fic, it got me thinking I should post some of the story I've been working on before I turned my attention to the Slayers steampunk project secondlina and I are working on.

My original plan was to not post this story until I had it completely written. However, right now I have more than half of it written, so I figure I could just post what I have on Live Journal and not post it on fanfiction.net until it's finished.
