Just this month, the Barenaked Ladies released their first childern's CD called snacktime. I found one of the animations that was made for their songs 7,8,9 I love that fact that it's written for kids, but there are jokes in it that adults would find funny too. It had my mother laughing when she saw this.

Finally got around to uploading some recent Z/A art I did. I drew Amelia/Zel in Seyrune style clothing because I love drawing Amelia in her priestess outfit from the novels and it's fun to draw Zel in something different from his standard travelling outfit.

Since it's May 1st, I can finally post a AMV I secretly worked on.

I basically made a trailer for our trip to Anime North. (And yes, this proves I have way too much fun with my moviemaker. XD)

I just found this on youtube. I didn't know the trailer was out yet. It's for the movie "Inkheart". I loved the book and I was really excited when I heard they were making a movie.



The trailer does make me curious though. It looks like it's not going to be exactly like the book, but then again that's a given for movie adaptations for books. Anyway, I'll hold my offical opinion after I see the movie. I will recommend for anyone seeing the movie to read the book. I think A LOT of book lovers can relate to the characters.

I'm happy to say the my Tear costume for Anime North is done! I've been working on it off and on since Janurary and I can't believe I'm done. It's nice an comfy and I got good comfortable shoes to go with it. Plus, I got a staff to play around with. ^_^ Be ready Anime North!

Also, (something I've been meaning to make a post about) my surprised discovery of Shugo Chara

When I first heard about this series, I had read the summary and thought "It's too magical girly" and had assumed I wouldn't like it and that was that. However, then I noticed that the blogger of The Scrumptious Anime Blog was making numerous post on this series and was a big fan of it. I find the blogger of this site has fairly good taste/opinion on anime, so the curiousity got the better of me and I watched the first episode and assumed that would be it.

......That was over a month ago, and since then I've bought all three volumes of the manga that has been translated (and excitedly waiting for volume 4 to be released later this month), read some scanlations/summaries of the recent chapters in Japan and have watched a fair number of episodes of the anime. It honestly surprised me, but the I'm really enjoying this series and a couple of my friends who don't normally like this kind of anime are also watching it.

This really shows you can't judge a book by it's cover. The series has a cute style, there is a nice variety of characters (both male and female), it has an interesting on going plot and I find Amu/Ikuto fair too amusing together to watch.

Now, granted, I find the manga to be the better of the two simply because the anime is suppose to be a 52 episode series and thus a lot of the episodes are filler and takes longer to get to the main plot moments. However, I do enjoy seeing my favorite manga moments being animated when they get to it. So, be warned, I will most likely be making one or two drabble on this series in the future. ^_^;

Also, one last thing about this series, the opening song is FAR too catchy. XD

I just went onto the Anime North website and discovered that they are currently having a vote to decide what t-shirt and coffee mug design to use.

I went ahead and voted but I thought you guys might be interested in voting too.

Besides, I spotted something funny yesterday. I was walking my dog when I heard a loud banging sound. I looked up and saw a woodpecker at the top of a telephone pole. What was funny was that he would peck, then pause and tilt his head and then start to peck. You can tell the little guy was thinking "Why can't I get a hole in this thing?" XD

There's also been a lot of robins this year, more so than we've had for the last couple of springs. But you know what, I don't care. After this long winter, I've never been so happy to see a robin.

This video can be blamed on gullwhacker While I have never own a cat (I'm more of a dog person) I know that many of my friends who do/has own cats will find this amusing.

At this year's Comic Con, for the Avatar Panel had a couple of amusing specials (in other words trying to keep the fans entertained until NICK shows new episodes again.)

Anyway, one of them was this....Avatar Puppets! XD I love it, mind you it's probably more funny to the people who are more familiar with the show, but it's still amusing all the same.

Well, overall I had a good birthday. My mom treated me to lunch and then for supper we had chicken carbonera and peanut butter cake for dessert. Yum! My brother got me the 101 Dalmations DVD that I wanted and my mother gave me the boxset ofPetite Princess Yucie A very good anime that needs more love.

secondlina post today, reminded me of a few thoughts I had the other day while I was in the toystore.

I was in the toy section and I happened to discovered they made action for Storm Hawks Not one of my favorite shows, but there are worse cartoons out there and a couple of the characters do make me laugh. But I digress. Anyway, I was curious, picked up the toy and looked at the back to see the whole list of the action figures that were made. Sure enough, there were no action figures for ANY of the female characters (even for the one main female and the one female villian, who is pretty much the reason for the show's plot).

This also reminded me years ago, when I was in middle school, they made action figures for the cartoon "Mummies Alive" and they actually did make a toy based on the one female main character, Nefertina. However, finding her to buy was almost impossible. I think there were many fans that didn't even believe the toy itself existed. I didn't know it existed until I looked up on the internet and saw it on e-bay a couple of years later.

This has ALWAYS annoyed me. When I was a kid, they was always at least one female character in cartoons for the girls to relate to (recalls her April O'Neil action figure) and they would normally make the one main female character into a toy for the girl fans, but now they don't even bother doing that anymore. I know that this is one issue that has irrated many of my fellow Avatar: The Last Airbender fans. There are plenty of actions figures on Aang, Sokka, Roku, Zuko, even King Bumi but there are none for the female characters like Katara, Toph, or even Azula. Considering the fact that some of the most powerful fighters in the show are the girls (especially Toph and Azula) so it would only make sense that there should see toys on them.

Now, I realize that the toy companies arguement is that if a cartoon is aim towards boy and therefore the toys would be aimed towards boys and they wouldn't want the female action figures as much as the male ones and thus wouldn't make good sales. Personally, I don't really buy that. There are plenty of girls who watch the show and would love to get their hands on a Katara figurine (and many of them are not children I might add). Besides, I can't help but think if I was a boy, I would like to have a complete set with all of the main characters. It just not fair to the fans of the show that love all of the characters, both the male and female.

1. Slayers-Zelgadis/Amelia
This was the first anime shipping I've ever started to love and it will forever been a top favorite ship for me.

2. Tales of the Abyss-Luke/Tear
My favorite pairing in the game. I really enjoy that fact that it's the girl who acts more cold than the boy. You don't see that very often and I find them very cute.

3. Kaze no Stigma -Kazuma/Ayano
I love the banter between these too. It makes it ways to easy/fun to write drabbles on them, especially with Kazuma's habit of teasing Ayano.

4. Shugo Chara! - Hinamori/Ikuto
A new series I've just discovered and am greatly enjoying. I just like the interaction between these two. Plus, by the way things are being set up and are going I have feelings there's going to be, at least, a strongly hinted canon couple. Even if they don't, I still like them.

5. Spice and Wolf - Horo/Lawrence
Another new anime I've been greatly enjoying. I love Horo's personality and it goes well with Lawrence's. I love how it's hinted they both know they like each other, but never get around to actually declaring it. I know it sounds a lot like a typical anime couple, but Lawrence and Horo do it a bit differently and refreshing way.

Today at work, we had to blow up nearly 100 ballons. Big ballon orders ALWAYS have to happened around the weekend. @_@

After seeing dqbunny nostalgia hit it reminded me of the one I had recently.

Behold, "Today's Special" A show that I LOVED as a kid. In fact, one of my nicknames my parents gave me as a kid was "Muffy" because I loved Muffy (the talking mouse) in the show so much. ^_^;

This is a Canadian show, but I do know that it also aired in the US for a time



And finally, my favorite song in the show. I can still remember the lyrics. I just wish I could find the full version of it.



What's really funny though, is that my mom remembers this guy playing Gilbert from when she saw "Anne of Green Gables" the musical years ago. XD
